Gardening Logic™ grants persons in legal possession of this publication a limited, nonexclusive and royalty-free license to use the design and construction details of the IrriGrid™ contained in this publication. This license establishes terms of fair use to the use of the design itself.
This is separate from the terms set forth in the copyright, which defines the terms for what you are allowed to do with the text and media contained in this publication.
Who this license is granted to
This license is granted explicitly to you if either
- You legally purchased the copy in your possession from the Gardening Logic website, or
- The copy in your possession was legally purchased by someone else for you, and you alone, on your behalf.
If you do not meet either of the above conditions, this License agreement is null and void and does not grant you any rights to use the design.
Otherwise, your use of the design contained in this publication signifies your agreement to comply with the terms under this license.
If your particular intended use of the design in this publication is not specifically covered in wording of this license agreement, do not assume it is permitted. Ask first.
1. What this license allows you to do with the IrriGrid™ design
Under the terms of this license, you may do the following with the design contained in this publication:
a. You may use the design to produce any number of irrigation grids royalty-free for your own use, for the use of your family members, or for use in local nonprofit community or school gardens (whether you are personally affiliated with them or not). You may charge a fee for irrigation grids you build for the others included in this clause, or you may gift or donate them as you see fit.
b. You may use the physical product you made from the design for any use, including commercial use. (E.g., you may use irrigation grids you built from the design in a for-profit market garden, nursery, or farming operation, as long as it is a commercial operation you own.)
c. You may hire a contractor to build the design for you or others listed in paragraph 1.a., and provide them a copy of this publication to build it. (See paragraph 2.c. for restrictions on contracted builders.)
d. You may modify the design any way you wish to suit your needs (creating derivative works) to make for your own use, or for others listed in paragraph 1.a. (See paragraph 2.d. for restrictions on derivative works.)
2. What this license does not allow you do do with the IrriGrid™ design
What you are not granted permission to do under this agreement includes (but is not limited to) the following:
a. You may not produce any number of irrigation grids from the design documented in this publication for the purpose of selling it to the public (anyone not included in paragraph 1.a.) for commercial gain.
b. You may not hire someone to mass produce the design for sale to the public.
c. If you hire someone to build one or more irrigation grids from the design for your own use or for others listed in paragraph 1.a. (which is allowed under paragraph 1.c.), that person may not use the design to produce IrriGrids™ for others who have not legally purchased a copy of this publication. It is your responsibility to ensure this.
d. While you may (as per paragraph 1.d.) create any derivative works from this design for your own use, or for others listed in paragraph 1.a., you may not claim the derivative design as your own work. You may not place the derivative design under patent, trademark, copyright, licensing or any other type of proprietary legal protection. All other permissions/restrictions in this License Agreement also apply to these derivative works, just as they do to the original design.
e. You may not separate this license agreement from the rest of the publication.
f. If you violate the terms of this License Agreement, it may be revoked, and no refund of the purchase price will be issued.
Licensing This Design For Commercial Use
For makers or manufacturers in the U.S. interested in using the designs in this book for commercial production of IrriGrids™ to sell to the public, we offer a commercial license with customizable terms to fit your budget and cashflow.
